The Martingale System
Beginner online casino gamblers play just for the fun and the money they can win, and they play without having a strategy. More experienced players use mathematics and different strategies to enhance their chances to win.
The Martingale system is quite a common strategy people use in several casino games.
Although it is a controversial strategy, many saying that it does not offer any long-term advantage compared to random bets, still many people use it and say that the Martingale system works perfectly fine even on the long-term.
The actual strategy is very simple: after every loss the gambler has to double his bet, this way as soon as he wins, he will not only recover all the losses, but will win a profit which equals the first stake. To make it even simpler, let us see an example! Let us take a small amount for the first bet: $5. At first the player bets $5. He wins, so the next bet will be $5 again. In case the player loses, the next bet will be double, so $10. In case he loses the bet, the player once again doubles the amount, which by now is $20. Eventually, the player will win again, and until the, he will keep doubling the stake.
The line can continue, but the main idea behind this betting system is the net win on the series is the initial stake (the $5) and at first, the player had won $5, and the net win on the series was exactly the amount of the first stake ($5). If we add the two amounts, we will see that the net winnings are $10. So the Martingale system looks like it is working, but it has a few disadvantages too. Let's discuss them!
The very first and obvious disadvantage of the Martingale system is that the player might have a really unlucky streak, and eventually will run out of money, so he will not be able to double the amount of the bet. If this is the case, the player will lose quite a large amount of money. Another risk is that the player will reach the table’s betting limit, so once again he will not be able to double the amount of the bet. Based on these risks, many people conclude (wrongly) that the Martingale system does not work at all. This conclusion is quite wrong, since these people presume a long streak of losses. However, it is true that for the long-term the Martingale system might not be the wisest decision, but on the short term it works perfectly fine.
Overall, the Martingale system is just a strategy to help you win; it will not work in 100% of the cases. Still, on the short-term it will enhance your chances, so even beginner players can try it, since the strategy is not difficult at all. Just give it a try to decide whether it works or not! Good luck!
